If you haven't heard it Chris Hedges has a fab two part documentary about coming home it came to mind immediately listening to your views through a lens of humanity.. some of the common themes of the hellish system resonates where it creeps through. Chris has taught in prison for many, many years and works to have folks tell their stories in their own words.. pretty powerful stuff.. keep sharing truth.. write and rant on! :~) https://chrishedges.substack.com/p/the-chris-hedges-report-podast-the#details
Insightful. I had a DUI 4 years ago. Worst night of my life in community jail. The "rich" white gal who was fretting over why bail was taking so damn long (on a Sat - not realizing how LUCKY I was to get out at 930 pm). Gave me a day to watch the dynamics once I got out of the drunk tank and thrown into an area with real convicts. One black gal was super nice. Let me use her clean toilet as my cellmate threw used feminine products on the floor & stole my bunk pad. To this day I wish I had gotten her name to put in a good word for that girl.
I like the audio! Looking forward to listening to some of the existing articles (perhaps with some addendums if there are any interesting updates to some of the Covid ones)
